HOW DO WE MAKE OUR PRODUCT/SERVICE A HABIT?

How do we make anything a habit?

By committing to do something  and then actually following through, for a considerable period of time until it becomes second nature!

Like an exercise routine: once you get hooked, your body craves for it all the more. When you’re a bit down or going off track, external help in the form of friends or a coach get you back on track.

When we start a new habit, it’s always in smaller steps that keep getting progressively harder. The itch to go more grows and so also retiring to the routine.

What facilitates us to stick to this habit?

When do we know we’re fully addicted to this routine?

We don’t! It’s simply internalized!

Let’s equate that to business and marketing strategy. What may begin as a feel-good product or service to your clients translates into a routine, an addiction they cannot do without. The product experience and outcome is that good (or good enough to alleviate a pain point) that they start using it regularly. To the point they ONLY use your product and start spreading the word.

Does it sound hypothetical? Haven’t you followed your friends who cannot do without a Facebook update or Instagram post? Or a Linkedin update? Or a morning jog?

One of the necessary growth and retention strategies is to get prospects to use your product, sign up for more and stick with it.
